1. ¿Qué son las cookies?
Una “cookie” es un fichero de datos escrito en el disco duro del ordenador de un usuario por parte de un sitio web que lo identifica ante éste y le permite recordarlo, personalizar sus preferencias o eliminar la necesidad de rellenar formularios o datos en futuras visitas. También permite a un sitio Web o compañías de publicidad a monitorizar el patrón o comportamiento de navegación de los usuarios.

2.- Tipos de Cookies
Las cookies propias: Son las que son enviadas a su ordenador por la propia página web.
Un ejemplo habitual podría ser una cookie que un portal envía a sus usuarios para saber sus preferencias sobre en qué idioma quieren leer sus contenidos. Cuando usted selecciona que quiere leer los contenidos en castellano dentro del portal este le enviará una cookie con sus preferencias. Desde ese momento siempre que tenga esa cookie instalada el portal le mostrará la información en el idioma que haya seleccionado previamente.
Las cookies de terceros: Son las enviadas por otras webs.
Estas si las empleamos en AveMalagaMadrid.org y las explicamos más abajo con detalle pero en resumen cuando usted visita nuestra web, Google Analitics le envía una cookie para identificarlo y seguir su navegación por nuestra web. En este caso, el almacenamiento de la cookie no la realizamos nosotros directamente, lo realiza Google como un servicio gratuito.
3.- Tipos de cookies según el plazo que permanecen activas
Todas las cookies se guardan en su ordenador con un tiempo de caducidad. Si estas caducan cuando abandona la web hablamos de cookies de sesión, por el contrario si su caducidad dura más tiempo se denominan cookies persistentes.
Un ejemplo de uso de una cookie de sesión se daría cuando realiza una compra dentro de una web. Cuando selecciona un producto para comprarlo se le envía una cookie. Con esta cookie en su ordenador la web puede leerlo y reconocer que usted quiere ese producto y añadirlo a su carrito de la compra. Sin esta cookie no podrá diferenciarle del resto de sus visitantes. Una vez finalizado el proceso la cookie se borra de su ordenador.
Un ejemplo de cookie persistente: Una tienda online que ve que usted está interesado en uno de sus productos podría enviarle una cookie con esos datos “a este visitante le interesa mi gama de cámaras fotográficos de la marca canon” y con esa cookie instalada mostrarle banners publicitarios en los días siguientes con información sobre ese tipo de productos.
4.- Tipos de cookies según su finalidad
Según su finalidad podemos distinguir las siguientes cookies:
Cookies técnicas: Generalmente enviadas por el propio sitio que le facilitan la navegación por el portal. Un ejemplo podría ser la red social Facebook. Cuando usted añade su usuario y contraseña Facebook le envía una cookie para identificarlo del resto de sus visitantes y mostrar su información personal restringida al resto de usuarios.
Cookies de personalización: Son las que guardan sus preferencias dentro del portal como puede ser su idioma.
Cookies de análisis: Sirven para ver cómo se comportan las visitas de una web dentro de ellas. Datos como que páginas ven, cuantos segundos están en cada una, etc.. Estas cookies son útiles para mejorar los servicios que da un portal en base a cómo interactúan los usuarios con él.
Cookies publicitarias: Se utilizan para personalizar la publicidad que un portal muestra a sus usuarios en base a los contenidos de la web y la frecuencia a la que se muestren los anuncios.
Cookies de publicidad comportamental: Estas cookies almacenan la información de los usuarios y su comportamiento para después ofrecer en los espacios publicitarios disponibles información relevante para ellos.

Como se explica en esta página su duración añadiendo un cero al final será solo de una sesión, con lo que las cookies de Analytics se borraran cuando cierre su navegador y por lo tanto no se serán cookies persistentes sino cookies de sesion.
